Gautam Sain, an associate of the firm, has experience in patent matters. Mr. Sain’s area of expertise is electrical and software patent applications including digital media, mobile and network devices, electronic documents, user interfaces, databases, search engines, spreadsheets, business methods and various client-server web applications. His clients include domestic, foreign and Fortune 500 companies.
Mr. Sain also has extensive experience in complex software engineering, telecommunications provisioning and facilities management systems, and digital mapping including geographical information systems.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Sain served as a patent examiner at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office where he specialized in compliance for software patent applications. He also spent just under five years in the private sector working as a software programmer and analyst, software project manager and consultant for a number of high profile software and technology consulting firms including SAIC, Computer Sciences Corporation, Comsys Corporation and Rational Software Corporation (now IBM). While in these roles Mr. Sain served a number of well-known clients including NASA, AT&T/British Telecom, MCI Worldcom (now MCI) and Bell Atlantic (now Verizon).
Mr. Sain also served as a senior law clerk at the California Office of Administrative Hearings. He is fluent in Hindi.
