John E. Holmes, a partner of the firm, concentrates on electrical, electronic and mechanical patent matters including opinions, due diligence studies and agreements. His clients range from large to small and include Fortune 100, Fortune 500, foreign and start-up companies and individuals.
Mr. Holmes has extensive experience in preparing and prosecuting U.S. and foreign patent applications, conducting studies of patent validity and infringement, and assisting clients in infringement avoidance and design-around efforts. He also has experience in drafting and negotiating IP licenses; drafting and negotiating hardware and software development and purchase agreements; and assisting with IP litigation and arbitration proceedings.
Mr. Holmes’ areas of technical expertise include telecommunications, printing and copying technology, computer hardware and software, semiconductor fabrication, satellite communications, medical devices and instruments, spacecraft design and lasers.
