JD Ma, an associate of the firm, has prosecuted hundreds of patent applications in the areas of wireless communications (CDMA, FDMA, OFDM and RF-based), software (graphical user interfaces, imaging, database, VoIP and PKI-based security), electronic circuits (CMOS and MOSFET), digital signal processing, business method and medical devices, many of which have been successfully issued to patents. Mr. Ma also has extensive experience in litigation support, client counseling, licensing and rendering opinions on patent-related matters.
Prior to joining to firm, Mr. Ma spent 12 years as a computer engineer working for technology startups and establised companies in Silicon Valley. During this time he developed 16-bit SEGA Genesis and 32-bit SEGA Saturn video games in wrestling and basketball; online bond-trading systems; real-time stock charting software; cross-platform web server plug-in modules for securing online credit card transactions; and enterprise database applications for handling large environmental databases for the federal government.
Mr. Ma is fluent in Mandarin Chinese.
