 Kevin M.  Barner 

Kevin M. Barner, a partner of the firm, specializes in patent procurement and litigation in matters related to a range of technologies. He has extensive experience in preparing legal opinions and counseling clients on patenting strategies. Mr. Barner also represents clients in appeal proceedings before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. 

Mr. Barner's areas of technical expertise include telecommunications devices including wireless communication hardware and networking techniques; semiconductor device design and manufacturing; commercial electronics including digital televisions and display technology, printers, computers and computer networking techniques; GFCIs and smoke detectors; lasers; and lighting fixtures and ballasts. Mr. Barner also has experience with electrical and mechanical medical devices, particularly stents and lasers for refractive eye surgery and hair removal and skin rejuvenation.

Prior to entering the legal profession, Mr. Barner had a lengthy technical career at Westinghouse Electric Corp, where he was a senior hardware design engineer. While at Westinghouse, Mr. Barner designed and integrated various electronics hardware modules for commercial and military radar and communication systems, such as the Air Force F-22 fighter jet.
