Richard A.  Flynt 

Richard A. Flynt is a partner with the Trademark practice. He has extensive experience in representing clients in the defense and prosecution of trademark and domain name disputes under the UDRP; trademark infringement and anticybersquatting litigation; and opposition, cancellation and concurrent use proceedings before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). He also has broad experience with Internet matters including metatag abuse, hidden text, improper framing, defamatory websites, and keyword and sponsored link issues.

Mr. Flynt specializes in drafting and negotiating intellectual property-related agreements including trademark and patent licenses; e-commerce agreements; and website development and maintenance contracts. His transactional practice also encompasses sophisticated technology purchase and sale agreements, such as value added reseller agreements, and complex agreements with Bell Regional Operating Companies including software and patent licenses and end user agreements. Mr. Flynt also has significant experience with other types of agreements including data processing hosting, prototype technology development and forward looking database protection and licensing for the agricultural industry.

In addition, Mr. Flynt obtains domestic and international trademark protection for his clients at the USPTO and in foreign jurisdictions, including direct filings in individual countries as well as filings under the Madrid Protocol and the European Community trademark registration system.

Mr. Flynt began his career as a trademark examining attorney at the USPTO. He also served in the United States Coast Guard from 1969 - 1970.
