Stephen A. Straub is an associate in the firm’s Trademark practice. He has experience in trademark and copyright transactions including prosecution, opinion drafting and litigation in federal court. He represents both domestic and international clients across many industries including hospitality, clothing and fashion, sporting goods and musical instruments. He assists clients in the development and management of their intellectual property portfolios.
Mr. Straub specializes in the preparation and prosecution of domestic and international trademarks and service marks. He frequently represents clients before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office’s (USPTO) Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, focusing on ex parte appeals and inter partes opposition and cancellation proceedings. He also provides opinions on registration and enforcement of trademarks, service marks and copyrights; performs due diligence searches; and counsels clients on licensing rights between parties.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Straub served as intern for Judge Gerard F. Rogers of the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board and as an extern in Trademark Law Office 102 at the USPTO.
Before his law career, Mr. Straub spent seven years at The Boeing Company serving in a number of different roles related to production of the AH-64D Apache Longbow helicopter. Prior to his time at Boeing, Mr. Straub served in the U.S. Air Force’s 354th Fighter Squadron in Tucson, Arizona.
